Searchers are still looking for a woman in the barren river. Melissa Trent went missing Monday afternoon while fishing in the greencastle area. Witnesses tell official the boat was caught by currents near the damn sending them over the falls. The man who was in the boat with her survived and was released from the hospital. However, the search for the woman continues. Authorities are using as many volunteers and resources as the can. Several counties have joined in the search.

SB: we’ve searched the majority of the river, uh going north, all the way to the butler county line. We’ve used some air support today. Uh, we’ve used uh boats, we’ve used some swift water teams, and some instructors from within the state to actually work the dam area.

The majority of the aid is from volunteers wanting to help in any way possible. One WKU student and instructor are using underwater camera equipment in the search.

SB: So what we have is a underwater submersible that has a high-def. on board camera. Uh, when tethered to the controller uh the operator can then monitor what it’s viewing through the camera. It also has a built in digital video recorder, uh so that later we can explore the footage and just see if there was something that we’ve missed.

Though days into the search, some friends still cling to a little hope.
